The Les Exclusifs line from Chanel features some of the most distinguished olfactory masterpieces the perfume world has ever smelled. One of them is Coromandel, and this exotic combination of white chocolate, benzoin, incense, and vanilla is one of the most beloved from the line. Many fragrances have taken inspiration from this classic since its release, but Coromandel still holds the crown for being one of the best amber woody fragrances of its genre. Its success has also led to the creation of Coromandel Parfum, which was launched in 2019. For this most recent inspired expression, we sought to recreate the vintage formulation as we find this version to smell the most natural while giving the best performance from every variation of its kind. The overall aroma conveyed by this masterpiece is an expression of sophistication, and for this reason, we have decided to name this one Sophisticated. Bitter orange nuances greet the wearer in the opening before white chocolate drizzled on top of orris butter meets you halfway through the perfume’s evolution. Mysterious tones of patchouli, incense, and benzoin in the base secure the amber presence of the fragrance while adding hours of longevity to its lifespan. Sophisticated is an apt name that still doesn’t do this fragrance justice. Make sure to wear this one in order to truly discover the magic within. Don’t just possess it, own it!
